Servings Ideas
Turn your gathering into a full-blown feast with the orange spritz mocktail as your ultimate refreshment. It’s great with vegan minestrone and a beetroot veggie sandwich for less formal events. It also complements my veggie pesto pizza, roasted carrots and sweet potatoes, and vegan mashed sweet potatoes for a traditional sit-down meal. Don’t forget dessert – try my eggless blueberry pie, banana blackberry muffins, or banana pecan muffins.
Storage Tips
When making an orange spritz mocktail for a crowd, you can prepare the base sans sparkling water. It is best to add the sparkling water just before serving. If you keep the sparkling water separate, you can refrigerate the rest of the mocktail mixture for up to 2 days. Adding the sparkling water too far in advance of serving will result in a flat mocktail.
FAQ
A non-alcoholic orange spritz has fresh-squeezed orange juice, fresh lemon juice, and sparkling water. I like to elevate it with maple syrup, fresh herbs, and a pinch of salt, serving it over ice.
You can use orange juice from the store, though it will most likely have added sugar. Whereas, squeezing your own fresh juice has none. There’s something even more refreshing about using fresh-squeezed orange juice in this winter mocktail, too, that makes it all come together even better.
Orange spritz mocktails rely on orange juice, and squeezing that juice fresh is the key. You can use any oranges you have for this, and after squeezing them, squeeze fresh lemon. I add maple syrup and salt, then combine and add over ice, finishing with the sparkling water and a sprig of fresh rosemary or mint to garnish.
