Ingredients + Substitutions

You don’t need much to make vegan chocolate bark, though if you’re missing something from my ingredient list, here’s what you can use.

  • Nuts: If you don’t have pecans on hand, pistachios make for a great alternative.
  • Zest: Orange zest is so tasty in this recipe. However, if you prefer lemon or lime, go for it!

How To Make Vegan Chocolate Bark

When making pecan chocolate bark, it is truly one of the simplest things that rewards you with luscious chocolaty flavors. It only takes a few quick steps, and then a little patience while you wait for it to set.

Would you like to save this?

  1. Melt chocolate using a double boiler.
  2. Line baking sheet or large plate with parchment paper (or a silicone baking mat) and pour melted chocolate over paper.
  3. Spread chocolate out to desired thickness and sprinkle pecans, orange zest, and salt over chocolate.
  4. Gently press dry ingredients into chocolate and place tray into freezer.
  5. Chop into pieces and enjoy!

Servings Ideas

Hosting a party or gathering? This orange chocolate bark is the perfect treat to share! If you’re having a full dinner, my Pumpkin Chili or Dairy-Free Potato Soup are great to start with. You can also serve Arugula Spinach Salad, Citrus Quinoa Salad, or Spring Roll Salad. Add some drinks like my Turmeric Latte and Oat Milk Matcha, then trot this bark out with my Gluten-Free Apple Crisp to share with your favorite people.

Storage Tips

Keep this vegan chocolate bark nice and crisp by layering it with parchment paper in an airtight container and tucking it in your fridge. It will keep in there for up to 3 weeks, though I doubt you’ll have any left by that point! If you want to keep it around a bit longer before you make another batch, it can also be stored in your freezer for up to 3 months.
