Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • Quick & Easy: The most time-consuming part is getting the arils out of the pomegranate. The rest takes minutes to make.
  • Refreshing: Tart lime juice, plus pomegranate arils, is so refreshing!
  • Vitamin C: Pomegranates have an incredible amount of vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant that helps all your cells thrive. It’s great for strengthening your immunity, too!

Nutrition For Mental Health

One pomegranate contains 4.7 grams of protein, 3.3 grams of fat, 52 grams of carbohydrates, and 11.3 grams of fiber. It is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and folate. Pomegranate arils are also a good source of potassium and contain phosphorus and magnesium. A systematic review found 59 studies that suggest pomegranate and its phytochemicals can have an antianxiety-like effect.

Ingredients + Notes

All you need are a few simple ingredients to make this pomegranate limeade. Once you see how easy and delicious it is, you’re going to be like me and make this every time you buy pomegranates!

Two pomegranates rest on a wooden cutting board with halved limes and a white bowl.
  • Lime juice: Fresh lime juice is always the best and tastiest choice.
  • Pomegranate: Grab a pomegranate and break it open to get all those arils. Your blender will turn this into a pretty pink juice! (Alternatively, they do sell containers of pomegranate seeds in the produce fridge section of most grocery stores.)

A full list of ingredients with exact amounts can be found in the recipe card below.

Substitutions + Variations

You’ll love this recipe as-is, though there’s nothing wrong with adding a few other things to make alternate versions.

  • Herbs: Fresh herbs such as rosemary, mint, or even basil can give this a unique and bespoke taste. Also, it would look lovely as a garnish if you’re using this for mocktails.
  • Soda water: For a fizzier format, use soda water.
  • Sweetener: I love maple syrup because it dissolves perfectly in liquid. However, simple sugar or liquid stevia would also work.
